6. Remove white and black line cord
wires from circuit board. If line cord
wires have pin connections at the
circuit board, remove line wire
connectors from the board. If the line
cord wires are soldered to the board,
use a wire-cutting tool to cut the
white and black wires where they are
attached to the circuit board. Prepare
the remaining part of line cord wires
for reinstallation by stripping back
insulation approximately 1/4” with
wire stripping tool. Use Phillips head
screwdriver to remove green ground
wire from line cord where it attaches
to circuit board. Retain screw for later
use.
7. Disconnect both fan wires. This step
will differ based on the type of
pump / motor you are replacing.
• Pump / motor without thermal
switch (Figure 1): If the fan wires
have pin connections at the circuit
board, remove fan wire pin
connectors from circuit board. If the
fan wires are soldered to the board,
use wire cutting tool to cut the two
black fan wires where they meet
circuit board. Prepare wires for
reinstallation by stripping back
insulation approximately 1/4” with
wire stripping tool.

Description
This pump / motor replacement kit
contains parts needed to install a new
pump / motor assembly for the FP2040 /
FP2041 / FP2045 / FP2047 compressor. It
includes the pump / motor assembly,
wire tie, and wire nuts needed during
installation.
Safety Information
Danger indicates an
imminently

Turn power OFF and unplug
unit from power receptacle
before servicing
compressor.
Drain ALL compressed air
from tank before servicing
compressor. This can be
done using the ASME Safety Valve.

Use a properly
grounded cord and
receptacle when operating compressor.
Do NOT use a grounding adapter.
Procedure
The following tools will be needed to
properly install replacement kit: 5mm
metric hex key, needlenose pliers,
adjustable wrench, Phillips screwdriver,
wire cutting tool, wire stripping tool,
and small flathead screwdriver.

1. Make sure the unit is unplugged
and depressurized.
2. Using a 5mm metric hex key, remove
four shroud screws. Remove shroud.
3. Locate the long red wire and white
wires connected to on/off switch on
inside of shroud. Remove both by
pulling on insulated clips with
needlenose pliers.
4. Use an adjustable wrench to remove
exhaust tube fitting from pump
head. Gently rotate exhaust tube
away from pump / motor.
5. Remove both pressure switch wires
(Figure 3).

15. Conecte los cables largos rojo
y blanco (desde la nueva
bomba/motor) al interruptor
de encendido/apagado que se

NOTA: El siguiente procedimiento
puede ser útil cuando vuelva a
conectar los cables al interruptor

retire el interruptor de

A continuación, dirija los cables
largos rojo y blanco a través de esta
